About this calculator
Enter how much you'd have invested at each interval, when you started, and how often you bought. We'll fetch historical Bitcoin closing prices from CoinGecko's free API and simulate buying that fixed amount at each interval — then show what your stack is worth at today's price.
Historical data goes back to 2013 — Bitcoin's early days. The chart shows your cumulative investment (the dull line) versus the current value of your Bitcoin stack (the exciting line).
Why DCA works
Dollar-cost averaging removes emotion from investing. By buying a fixed amount on a schedule, you automatically buy more Bitcoin when it's cheap and less when it's expensive. Over long periods, this has historically outperformed lump-sum investing in Bitcoin's case because of the volatility.
A note on fees
This calculator doesn't include exchange fees. Most major exchanges charge 0.1%–1.5% per trade, which over years adds up. Use the Subscription Calculator to see what your exchange fees cost in sats.
