An interesting move from Kraken dropped today — and I'm seriously considering it. I've now holding my day-to-day spending money on Kraken and using the debit card for all of my personal costs.
Living for Free
I deposited £750 worth of Bitcoin a few days ago, and it's now worth £820 — despite paying for coffees, lunches, and other day-to-day expenses. So basically, I've been living for free.
That's the power of holding Bitcoin while you spend it. The appreciation covered my costs.
Why Kraken Works
- No fees — for this kind of thing
- Relatively low spread
- 1% cashback at the moment on spending
Pretty good deal if you ask me.
The Bigger Picture
This is what living on the Bitcoin standard actually looks like. Not just hodling — but using Bitcoin as money. Every coffee, every lunch, every purchase becomes a tiny investment because the Bitcoin you didn't sell goes up over time.
Combine that with cashback, zero fees, and the ease of a debit card, and you've got a pretty compelling setup.
Helps when you buy the local bottom, obviously. But even then — the infrastructure is finally here.
